608 FELLOWS FELLOWSHIPS The rank of4' Honorary ×™×™ Fellow of King's College London was first established February 19 1847 This Name is now changed to Fellows and the King's College London Act 1882 incorporates all Fellows of the College as members of the Corporation The rank is granted- To former Students of the College who have become eminent at the Universities or in Public Life The number of former Students so elected is not to exceed three in any year The Principal and Heads of Departments submit in May of each year to the Council the names of those considered by them to be deserving of this distinction and the Council elect at one of their meetings before the close of the Academical year To those who have been Principal or Head Master or for not less than five years Professor or Lecturer or Assistant-Master or Secretary of the College or have served the College in conspicuous manner
