Report on training at London Hospital:
'She passed a 'satisfactory' examination and received a certificate to the effect that her work was satisfactory and her conduct very good. A quiet, steady probationer but a little disappointing in some ways and she did not develop with her hospital experience nor fulfil the promise of thoroughness and power with which we were disposed to credit her at first - she would have made a good staff nurse or probably her gentle manner would have adapted her to private nursing but she was obliged to return home on the completion of her training in consequence of the precarious state of her father's health. Miss Hutton Polls left on the whole a pleasant impression upon those with whom she worked and if she renews her hospital work she would be likely to do well.'
