Notes

Letter from his mother dated 24 September 1946:

Our son Aubrey Charles Ellis B.Sc. was a student at King’s College, London from 1938 – 1940 – then called before a Joint Recruiting Board – sent to a Laboratory under the Ministry of Supply – although he would have preferred the Air Force – he was told his knowledge was needed. He died from chemical poisoning and letters from the Home Office informed us that the Court of Enquiry was told that he had given his life on War Service.
